Hi, I am having the same problem - please can someone respond asap? I have pressed the shift key while starting it up, also after double clicking on the desktop icon I have then pressed shift and held it down. However, the error message still appears.

Sorry, just saw previous post on page 2 - there was a little polaroid icon in the right hand bottom tray - closed that and it works fine, thank you!!

For those who still don't get THE SOLUTION, HERE IT IS:

The message occurs when you don't quit Poladroid by pressing the quit button on top of the little camera. You probably closed the application by right-clicking on it's button in the task-bar and choosing "close" there or something like this. Doing so keeps Poladroid running as a process in the background, and for that, this is A REAL BUG!

NOW:

1) open the Task-Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del under WinXP)
2) bring the process-tab in front
3) find a process called "poladroid.exe"
4) Terminate it!

Poladroid will now start again without any problems!

Hey, I had this problem too, and when I saw the post about the program not closing down properly (I didn't close the program down from the program window but right clicked the bar down the bottom next to the start tab) I went in to Task Manager and the program was still running in the Processes tab. Once I ended the program there, I could open the program again without any problems.
